The Missouri Dietetic Association (MDA) 2012 Annual Conference, “Nutrition at the Crossroads”, reflects all of the crucial areas where decisions about nutrition are being made. It is from this theme that the 2012 MDA Annual Conference committee has set this 3 day program.
On Wednesday evening, April 18, the Pre-conference, led by Morrison’s Culinary Team, will be providing resources to attendees about sourcing local ingredients and how to provide sustainable protein and vegetables for meals. Attendees will have the opportunity to travel around different food stations where demonstrations, samplings and lectures will take place.
On Thursday, April 19, the keynote address will cover the Crossroads of Nutrition and Health and Well Being of the Workplace. On this day topic discussions range from Food Defense (how the decisions we make in what we purchase for our foodservice or our home can protect our clients or families from potential harm) to Pharmaconutrition.
On Friday, April 20, the theme is repeated in the subjects of legislative menu labeling to taking advantage of social media. And, new to this years’ conference, attendees will have a choice of morning lectures to attend.
Our program features nationally known speakers, an interactive exhibit area, networking with colleagues, a cocktail reception, wine pull fundraiser and the chance to talk face to face with Missouri Legislators regarding nutrition related topics
